Belly Dance Classes in St. Albert
A welcoming environment for all
Belly dance is a low-impact exercise that benefits your body, mind, and soul. It’s great for toning muscles and it lowers your stress levels. It also improves your flexibility, strength, and posture.

Our classes provide healthy self-time in a community of likeminded & supportive individuals.
We’re not here to become experts.
We’re here to dance for ourselves, feel good, and have fun.

Our beginner belly dance class covers the basics of Egyptian belly dance but it also gives you a taste some props such as the veil, fan veil and cane (asaya).
In our intermediate belly dance classes you learn various types of belly dance including drum solo, raqs sharqi, veil, baladi, saidi, shaabi, mahraganat and more.
Workshops: We offer 2-hour weekend workshops throughout the year for beginners.

Meet Your Instructor
My name is Laura Beauchamp.
My passion for Egyptian Belly Dance started in 2002, while attending the University of Calgary but I grew up in Saudi Arabia from age 8-18 so perhaps the rhythm of Arab music got into my soul.
I took my first class just for fun and that has led to a lifelong love for the art form, and a growing interest in the health and mental benefits of Belly Dance.

Belly dance has played an important role in my life. I was doing a 3/4 shimmy when my husband proposed to me. When I had an epidural while in labour with our first child, I could not feel if I was pushing or not, so the muscle memory of a tummy roll birthed our son into the world.

Moving to St. Albert in 2022, I realized the need for classes in St. Albert so I founded Belly Dance Beats in May 2023.

I love teaching, dancing and getting involved in the community and I look forward to the opportunity of sharing my passion with you.
