4-week Kids Beginner Belly Dance (ages 8 - 11) Testimonial from Maya 10-years old: "I find it fun to do different styles of dance and learn new moves. Laura is fun and kind! If you’re struggling with a move, she is helpful! * Your child DOES NOT need to show their belly. Comfort is #1. Have them wear exercise clothes they feel comfortable in (i.e. T-shirt and exercise pants). Dates: Sundays April 12, 19, 26 and May 3 Time (45-minute class) 5:00 pm - 5:45 pm Location: DanceCo in St. Albert, 9030 McKenney Ave, St. Albert, AB T8N 2T7 Studio 6/7 Experience Level: No experience required. This class is designed for kids 8 - 11 years old with NO belly dance experience. Course Description: During each 45-minute class your child will learn different moves and techniques of belly dance. Three of the classes they will also try some belly dance props. (i.e. Saidi cane, veil and fan veil) In-Class Performance: For this short 4-week program because each class is diverse, there is NO in-class performance and NO dance recital or show. Parents or guardians are welcome to watch the classes through the studio hall window. What to wear: Comfortable exercise clothes. Your child does not need to show their belly. Traditionally belly dance is done barefoot but your child can wear socks, a ballet slipper or soft jazz shoe. Hip Scarves: Visit my on-line store to buy your child a hip scarf so they can jingle and sparkle! Prices start at $10. If you really like one buy it on-line because I only have a couple in stock of each kind. You can also purchase your child a hip scarf prior to the 1st class by coming 10-minutes early to look at and try on the hip scarves I will have on display prior to our 1st class. WhatsApp: This app is the easiest way to share a video of the choreography so your child can practice during the week (if they like). Studio Rules: All children must been supervised by an adult prior too and directly after class. No unsupervised minors allowed.
