Intermediate Show Choreography to Shakira 10-weeks Show Choreography: You will learn a belly dance choreography to a Shakira song over 10-weeks, which you will then have the opportunity to perform in the Edmonton Belly Dance Show on Sunday March 29, 2026. (Dancing in the show is not required) Class Date: Mondays Jan. 12, 19, 26 Feb. 2, 9, 23 (NO CLASS Feb. 16) Mar. 2, 9, 16, 23 *Pencil in 7:30pm - 8:30 pm on Wed. Mar. 25 as a "just in case Laura gets sick" Belly Dance Show: Sunday March 29, 2026 In addition to the cost of the class, students will need to purchase a ticket ($15) to attend & perform in the show, as well as an appropriate belly dance costume to perform in. Costume prices range a lot, but you can expect to spend $40 - $200. Class Time: 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm Location: Dynamyx Gymnastics Club 110 – 175 Carleton Drive St. Albert, Alberta T8N 7X9 Experience level: If you have taken a few beginner classes (2-3) or other intermediate belly dance classes, this intermediate show choreography class is for you. All welcome. Ages 14+ Shakira inspired many to learn belly dance! This fun, upbeat and diverse choreography will strengthen your body, mind and soul. To be the best you can for the show, extra practice at home is encouraged. What to wear to class: Wear comfortable exercise clothes. You do not need to show your belly. Traditionally belly dance is done barefoot but you can wear socks, a ballet slipper or soft jazz shoes if you prefer. What to wear to the show: Black and gold are the costume colours for this choreography. A black skirt or even black exercise pants, with a black and gold hip scarf and a black and/or gold belly dance bra or tank top. The show consists of other belly dancers, beginner, intermediate, semi-professional, instructors and their families and friends watching. It's an exhilarating experience to dance on stage. Payment: I am a small business so if possible I greatly appreciate if you can pay via etransfer or cash. I completely understand that paying for the class entirely upfront can be financially too much.
