Beginner Egyptian Pop Belly Dance Show Choreography 10-weeks *All welcome Egyptian Pop Belly Dance is danced to upbeat Arabic pop music. It blends traditional, grounded hip isolations and shimmies with theatrical, expressive arm movements and playful, contemporary styling. This choreography will be to the song, "Dom Dom", by singer Mahmoud El Esseily. Class Dates: Mondays Sept. 14, 21, 28, Oct. 5 , 19, 26 (no class Oct. 12) Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 *Pencil in Wed. Nov. 25 as a "just in case Laura gets sick" Belly Dance Show: Sunday November 29, 2026 Class Time: 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm Location: Dynamyx Gymnastics Club 110 – 175 Carleton Drive St. Albert, Alberta T8N 7X9 Experience Level: No experience required. This class is for individuals ages 15+ with no belly dance experience or who have only taken one or two beginner classes. Course Description: During each 1-hour class you will learn different moves and techniques of belly dance and how they flow together in a choreography. Extra practice at home is encouraged to be ready for the show. What to wear to class: Wear comfortable exercise clothes. You do not need to show your belly. Traditionally belly dance is done barefoot but you can wear socks, a ballet slipper or soft jazz shoes if you prefer. What to wear to the show: How exciting! You get the chance to wear a sparkly, jingly belly dance outfit on stage! I would like if we could all agree on a colour scheme or ideally even the same skirts to wear so that we have a professional look on stage. We will talk about our outfits in class. Students must cover the cost of their costume and ticket to the show (usually $15) to participate and attend the show. The show is a very friendly audience. It consists of other belly dancer students (beginner & intermediate), semi-professional, instructors and their families and friends watching. It's an exhilarating experience to dance on stage. WhatsApp: This app is the easiest way for me to share a video of the choreography with you so you can practice during the week. Download the app prior to the class with the phone number you put on your registration. Payment: I am a small business so if possible I greatly appreciate if you can pay via e-transfer or cash. I completely understand that paying for the class entirely upfront can be financially too much.
