Beginner Belly Dance Show Choreography 10-weeks Show Choreography: You will learn a beginner belly dance choreography over 10-weeks to perform in the Edmonton Belly Dance Show on Sunday Nov. 30! Class Dates: Mondays Sept. 15, 22, 29 Oct. 6, 20 & 27 (No class Oct. 13 for Thanksgiving) Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24 Belly Dance Show: Sunday Nov. 30 Class Time: 6:15 pm - 7:15 pm Location: Dynamyx Gymnastics Club 110 – 175 Carleton Drive St. Albert, Alberta T8N 7X9 Experience Level: No experience required. This class is for individuals ages 15+ with no belly dance experience or who have only taken one or two beginner classes. Course Description: During each 1-hour class you will learn different moves and techniques of belly dance and how they flow together in a choreography. Extra practice at home is encouraged to be ready for the show. What to wear to class: Wear comfortable exercise clothes. You do not need to show your belly. Traditionally belly dance is done barefoot but you can wear socks, a ballet slipper or soft jazz shoes if you prefer. What to wear to the show: How exciting! You get the chance to wear a sparkly, jingly belly dance outfit on stage! I would like if we could all agree on a colour scheme or ideally even the same skirts to wear so that we have a professional look on stage. We will talk about our outfits in class. Students must cover the cost of their costume and ticket (usually $15) to participate and attend the show. The show consists of other belly dancers, beginner, intermediate, semi-professional, instructors and their families and friends watching. It's an exhilarating experience to dance on stage. WhatsApp: This app is the easiest way for me to share a video of the choreography with you so you can practice during the week. Download the app prior to the class with the phone number you put on your registration. Payment: I am a small business so if possible I greatly appreciate if you can pay via etransfer or cash. I completely understand that paying for the class entirely upfront can be financially too much.
